Organ-on-chip is a novel technology harnessing advances in microengineering and fluid dynamics to reconstruct the physiological tissue microenvironment, including many features that cannot be achieved in conventional tissue culture (e.g. villi, differentiation of epithelial cell types, mucus secretion, peristalsis).

Gut reaction: How the gut microbiome may influence the severity of COVID-19.

COVID-19 infection is most commonly severe in those with high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity, conditions that are all associated with gut microbiome dysbiosis. We have discussed whether the gut microbiome has a role in dictating COVID-19 severity.
